Using some of my models I started some tests on rendering them as if they were actual 3D prints. I will be adding my progress results here from time to time.

Thank you David! Pardon me for the late reply.. Yes, the Hoplite 3d print can be painted with paints suitable for miniatures.

I am sorry, the Hoplite model is not available for purchase for several reasons.

May I ask where you get your 3d printing done?
I’m looking at shapeways at the moment but their prices are quite prohibitive.

I have used several 3d print facilities so far, like Growit3d, Offload Studios and ProtoDemon.
